Southwest Urban Arts Mural Project (SUAMP)

About SUAMP

Southwest Urban Arts Mural Project (SUAMP) is an employment program focused on art and design. During the school year, youth participants learn all about the fundamentals of art while working with SUAMP's lead artists, professional artists from the College for Creative Studies, and other art's based professionals.  Once summer starts, the participants take what they learned in the Art and Design workshops and paint murals around the neighborhood. This past summer, SUAMP painted the bathrooms inside of LOS HQ, refined a mural on Lafayette and Wheelock, and are working on murals with the Southwest Food Cultivators at Viva La Garden.
